Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in motherhood, attempt a few diys and share my favorite fashion and beauty finds! I hope you enjoy

10 Amazon products to make your kitchen greener.

10 Amazon products to make your kitchen greener.

One of the things my family has really been trying to do lately is minimize our negative imprint on our planet.  Now and days everything comes in packaging - heck you can even buy bananas that are wrapped in some places, which is completely absurd to me.  While there’s some packaging and waste that is hard to avoid, there’s a lot that can be avoided with just a few easy switches.

Today I’m going to share with you guys just a few small changes we made to the products we were using in the kitchen specifically, that has reduced the waste we accumulate by so much already.

First up are these reusable baking sheets.  They are a great alternative to using parchment paper as well as tinfoil.  They are also dishwasher friendly making for an easy clean up!

How many cupcake liners do you think you’re guilty of going through in a year? I know for me, between muffins and cupcakes I probably go through at least a couple hundred. Not anymore though, we’ve switched to these reusable silicone liners that work just as good without the waste after.

This next product has been one of my favourites. It’s beeswax food wrap! We’ve replaced using any Saran Wrap or plastic bags to save certain foods from going bad, to using these. The pack we got came in three different sizes which makes it easy to use for just about anything.

Replacing the amount of ziplock bags we used was one of the first changes we knew we had to make, so we replaced them with a few different things. First we got these reusable silicone bags to use as freezer bags or to store food in the fridge or pantry.

Then we switched out using plastic bags as snack bags and bought a few of these usable snack bags for the kids.

I also purchased a few different variations of reusable lids. A few that are great for using when you don’t use all of a fruit or vegetable and another set that’s great for putting over bowls, cups, etc that have left overs in them.

I feel like the next items should be no brainers, but judging by how many people still use plastic grocery bags I guess it isn’t. I’m totally guilty of using plastic bags for a long time- heck sometimes I forget our reusable bags and I’m still guilty of it.  That being said, reusable bags should be a must!  Here’s the reusable grocery bags and produce bags we use.

Last Up - reusable straws! We use these not only at home but I always make sure to have a couple handy in my purse for when we are out.
