Happy 4th Birthday
To my sweet little Ayda,
When you first came into this world I was terrified. Terrified that I would fail you, that I wouldn’t know how to be the mommy you deserve or needed. I was terrified of anything bad ever happening to you, as a mother you never want to see harm come to your child, and that my dear, will never ever change.
Those fears haven’t disappeared yet, I don’t think they ever will if I’m being honest. But since you’ve come into my world you’ve taught me so much that those fears have faded.
You taught me how to love, unconditionally and unselfishly. I loved you before I even knew who you were, before I even held you in my arms, and I’ve loved you more and more every day since. I love you with no expectations, I don’t even expect you to love me back (although I hope you always do). I have loved you and will always love you with every ounce of my being and I hope you never forget that.
You’ve taught me about patience, boy have you taught me how to be patient. This is a lesson I don’t think you will ever stop teaching me about. You are strong willed and head strong, and these traits will make you a strong woman when you are grown my love. They often leave us butting heads right now though, and this is where your lessons in patience are most valuable.
I hope you know you can be whoever and do whatever you want in life. Don’t you ever let anything or anyone stop you from achieving your dreams. Don’t let anything hold you back, because all those things telling you can’t can be overcome, because you can, in every situation you are faced with....YOU CAN
I know as the years pass you will grow further away from being my baby and closer to being the strong independent woman I know you will become. Just promise me that no matter where you go in life you will never forget how much mommy loves you. You’ll eventually become someone’s wife and then someone’s mommy, but no matter how old you are, or how far you are, you will ALWAYS be my little girl, my first born, and the first person who made my heart grow sizes I never thought imaginable.
